The National Highways and Motorway Police has closed the northbound section of the Motorway M-4 between the Faisalabad Interchange and Pindi Bhattian to facilitate ongoing infrastructure repair work.
According to Syed Imran Ahmed, spokesperson for the Motorway Police Central Region, traffic along the 52-kilometer stretch has been diverted to maintain vehicle flow while maintenance operations are carried out on the affected carriageway.
Alternative Routes for Northbound Travel
Motorists journeying north toward northern destinations are advised to utilize the Chiniot–Pindi Bhattian Road. This designated detour provides drivers with alternative access to Motorway M-2, bypassing the closed segment of the M-4.
While the northbound lanes are closed, authorities confirmed that the southbound carriageway remains unaffected. Vehicles travelling southbound from Pindi Bhattian toward Faisalabad can continue using the motorway under normal operating conditions.
Signage and Safety Measures Deployed
To assist motorists navigating the detour, the Motorway Police has completed targeted safety arrangements and installed directional signboards across the designated alternate routes. These measures are designed to ensure clear guidance and mitigate congestion along local roadways.
The department has urged travelers to adhere strictly to the designated routes, observe posted signage, and comply with instructions issued by on-duty traffic personnel. Motorists are also encouraged to exercise caution and maintain patience while driving through the impacted regional transit corridors until repair works conclude.
